Ladies Aid financially supports several Christian missions and provides Bibles to St. John’s 3rd grade and pre-school students with money received from serving funeral luncheons. They provide Easter baskets for homebound members and cards of encouragement to members. If you are unable to attend monthly meetings, sign up to serve or provide a salad or dessert for funerals.

LML/Ladies Aid members of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Chaska, MN, learned of a local alternative school program which offers support to students who are pregnant or parenting.
The program, New Beginnings, helps young single moms (and dads) to complete their high school education and make plans for their future. Students learn parenting skills, receive counseling, are referred to social services, and can access childcare.
Our group received a list of needed items, purchased new baby and children’s clothing, books, and gifts for moms. In addition, we applied for and received a $250 Thrivent Action Team grant which the group used to purchase slippers (as street shoes cannot be worn in babies’ rooms), diapers, bottles, and pacifiers.
The group delivered these gifts to the facility on December 7, just in time for Christmas.
