Pastor Barry’s report from the 2026 LCMS Convention
From July 18–24, Pastor Barry traveled to downtown Phoenix to attend the 69th Regular Convention of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, which was held at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Gathered as a Church Body
Nearly 1,500 people from across the country gathered for the multiday convention to elect Synod-wide officers and other leaders within the LCMS.
The theme of the convention was “Christ Is Risen Indeed,” from 1 Corinthians 15:20–22.
On the convention floor, delegates discussed and voted on matters affecting the Synod. Throughout each day, they also gathered for prayer and worship.
The convention gives us an opportunity to see the size and breadth of our church body and to hear perspectives from LCMS congregations and districts throughout the country.
United in Faith
Delegates were also joined by leaders representing 39 church bodies from around the world with which the LCMS shares fellowship. These leaders came from places such as Bolivia, Korea, Russia, Lithuania, Finland, Madagascar, and many others.
It was a glimpse of eternity seeing people of many different languages and backgrounds all gathered together united in faith
