Music at St. John’s
Music is an important part of worship at St. John’s. Throughout the year, singers and instrumentalists of all ages have opportunities to use their gifts in worship through choirs, special services, and other musical offerings. Whether you participate regularly or for a particular season, there are several ways to be involved.
Psalm 100:1-2 – “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth! Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!”
Messengers of Praise
Starting September 9, 2026
Adult choir (open to HS students too); rehearses Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM. Sings twice each month, usually at the 8:00 or 10:45 AM service.
Men's Choir
Starting October 14, 2026
Men are invited to join the Men’s Choir this fall! Rehearsals will be held on Wednesday, October 14 and 21, with the choir singing during worship on Sunday, October 25. Other opportunities to sing with the Men’s Choir may also be offered throughout the year.
Festival Choir
Starting October 28, 2026
Sing for holidays or special festivals where the commitment is limited to a few rehearsals and usually one service. This includes our Advent Choral Vespers Choir, which begins rehearsals on Wednesday, October 28, and sings for the Advent Vespers service on Sunday, December 6. Festival Choir opportunities are also offered for Holy Week and Easter, as well as a few other Sundays throughout the year.
Blended Worship Songleaders
Singers and instrumentalists are invited to participate in our blended worship services, typically at 10:45 AM twice each month and 9:30 AM once each month. Rehearsals are held Wednesday evenings from 8:00–9:00 PM, with some flexibility as needed. All ages, voice parts, and instruments are welcome.
Instrumentalists and Vocalists
There are many opportunities throughout the year for instrumentalists and vocalists to take part in worship at St. John’s. Musicians of different ages and experience levels are welcome to participate.
