Throughout October, St. John’s School students will be collecting food and other needed items during chapel to support Monday Night Meal, and our entire St. John’s church family is invited to participate too.
Monday Night Meal prepares approximately 300 meals each week, relying on donations and volunteer help. The program also partners with His House, which brings clothing and household items for people in need.
Each Thursday in October, the school will have a featured donation item:
- October 1: Pasta of any kind and/or red pasta sauce in unbreakable containers
- October 8: Stove Top Stuffing Mix
- October 22: Canned fruit of any kind
- October 29: Mild salsa in unbreakable containers and/or large bags of Nacho Cheese Doritos
Church members are welcome to join our school families in collecting these items throughout the month. While there is a different focus each week, donations of any of the listed items are welcome at any time during October. Monday Night Meal is also looking for Target-sized plastic bags to help package meals, and monetary donations are welcome as well.
Thank you for helping our students support Monday Night Meal and for continuing to keep this work and those it serves in your prayers.
“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40
