Barry, Matthew

Pastor Barry began serving at St. John’s in 2018, having previously served in Pittsburgh for five years. He is a 2008 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin and a 2012 graduate of Concordia Seminary. He and his wife, Katie, also a 2008 graduate of Concordia University Wisconsin, have been married since 2008 and have been blessed with four children. When she is not at home with the kids, Katie helps lead Moms In The Word and helps with family discipleship at St. John’s. Pastor Barry oversees the educational programming of the congregation, which includes Sunday School, Bible studies, confirmation, and family ministry. He also helps guide newcomers into membership and greater involvement at St. John’s. When he is not at Church, Pastor Barry enjoys attending community gatherings and festivals with his family. Aside from his responsibilities at St. John’s, Pastor Barry is also involved in Trail Life,  a Christian scouting organization, serving as Troop 3368’s chaplain and church liaison. He also serves on the executive board of Mayer Lutheran, an LCMS middle and high school in Mayer, MN.
