Goltz, Tim

Tim Goltz has served in visitation ministry since July 2023, when Pastor Al Holthus retired. As a visitation minister, along with Pastor Snow, Pastor Barry, and retired LCMS Pastor Keith Perry, Tim visits and gives Communion to our less-mobile members, who are unable to attend church by themselves. Tim makes monthly visits to our members, leading them in a Holy Communion Service that includes a devotion, confession and absolution, the Creed, prayers, and distribution of Jesus’ body and blood as consecrated by an ordained pastor. Visits also include plenty of time to share news from St. John’s and talk about what is going on in our members’ lives. Tim also helps members set up their computers to be able to view our Sunday morning services online. These visits are deeply appreciated by the member and equally rewarding for the visitation minister.

Tim and his wife Mary have been members of St. John’s since 1998, and their children Claire and Nate attended St. John’s School PK through eighth grade. Tim has served several terms as Elder, and first did visitation ministry as an Elder when St. John’s had a pastoral vacancy. Tim is also involved with the men’s Bible and Bacon study.

Tim’s other interests include sports, yard work, and staying active. He is known around Chaska as the guy who can be found running while pushing his dog Franklin in a stroller.
